Emma
Emma started dancing at age 10 and competing at age 14 at Northern Lights Dance Academy of Park Rapids. She has trained intensively in ballet, pointe, jazz, and tap, along with having several years of experience in acrobatics, hip hop, modern, danceline, and musical theatre. Emma has attended intensives with The Radio City Rockettes, Point Park College and The National Dance Association. She has also had the opportunity train with Penelope Freeh of the James Sewell Ballet Company, and Herman Payne of Julliard School of Dance and Miami City Ballet. Emma began teaching at age 15 and gained a passion for choreography. She has choreographed for the Park Rapids Area theatre where her work was performed in their annual shows. Since then, Emma has consistently been teaching and choreographing, along with coaching gymnastics, all while continuing to further her own education in dance. She is currently pursuing a degree in the Arts. Emma is passionate about encouraging kids to love and enjoy dance, while also pushing themselves to do their best. She is thrilled to be teaching at Dance Endeavors!

Jessica
Jessica is a Maple Grove native and started dancing at age three. She started competing at the age of five and went on to win multiple titles and scholarships. She also was a gymnast for ten years and danced on the highly acclaimed Totino Grace High School varsity dance team. Jessica went to North Dakota State University where she trained under the director of the Fargo-Moorhead ballet and obtained a minor in dance. She recently coached dance team at Eden Prairie where she taught and choreographed jazz and high kick. Jessica is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, gymnastics, and more. Jessica just graduated from law school and is a law clerk to a Judge in family court. Jessica is very excited to be a part of the Dance Endeavors team and to spread her passion for dance!

Michaela

Michaela started her dance training with the Milwaukee Ballet School at the age of five and continued her training through the Milwaukee Ballet School Academy Program. While at MBS, she trained primarily with Karl Von Rabenau and Phyllis Coffey. She spent her summers dancing at the Milwaukee Ballet School and Ballet Austin summer intensive programs, and danced several classical ballet roles, her favorites being Kitri in Don Quixote and Grumpy in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. After high school, she continued her training as a dance major at St. Olaf College where she focused on not only movement, but also policy relating to the arts. Her training includes classical ballet, pointe and variations, partnering, jazz, character, and modern dance.

Isadora

Isadora has been born and raised in the Dance Endeavors family, helping to build the studio quite literally! She has danced for 16 years, studying all styles of dance, but truly has a passion for lyrical and contemporary. Izzy has a natural love for children and it shows in her teaching style. TWe are so excited she is sharing her love of dance with us!

Cole
Cole is a Minnesota native and began his dance training with Dance Endeavors.  He has trained in ballet, jazz, character dance, African dance, contemporary, lyrical, many styles of modern, and musical theater dance.  He has trained under Juli Mickelson, Denise and Rick Vogt, Jeff Rogers, Susan McGuire, and Marek Cholewa.  Cole has attended American Ballet Theatre and Ballet West summer intensives.  At age 17, he moved to Salt Lake City to train and dance with Ballet West.  During his two years there, he had the privilege of dancing in Adam Sklute's Giselle and Swan Lake, original roles in Pamela Robinson and Peggy Dolkas' Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast, John Cranko's Romeo and Juliet, and Bournonville's Abdallah.  Cole currently attends Butler University in Indiana, pursuing his degree in Dance - Arts Administration.  He has performed numerous roles in Butler Ballet's Nutcracker and Cinderella, in Balanchine's The Four Temperaments, and in Paul Taylor's Piazzolla Caldera.  Cole is very excited to be teaching at Dance Endeavors!

Ali- Account Specialist
Ali began working part-time as the Account Specialist in 2018 after volunteering for her first two years at the studio. She works full-time in the Bloomington Schools.  Two of her three daughters dance at Dance Endeavors. Ali loves that her girls get to be in such a fun, positive environment throughout the year! Kim
Kim is from Waukesha County, Wisconsin and is a student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities currently working to earn her BFA in Dance. She's been training for 16 years both recreationally and competitively through studios and school dance teams. She has been teaching/choreographing for 6 years at pher home studio, her performing arts high school, and the Twin Cities area.  One of Kim's greatest accomplishments includes her high school senior portfolio project, where she choreographed, produced, and directed her own dance production. She is very excited to join the Dance Endeavors team and to spread her art to all the wonderful young dancers at the studio! 

Rachel
Rachel is a Bloomington native and began her dance training at Dance Endeavors under the direction of Juli Mickelson.  Rachel trained at Dance Endeavors in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Tap, Jazz, Danceline, and Hip-Hop for 9 years.  Rachel recently graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Environmental Science and minors in Dance and American Indian Studies.  During her time at Iowa State, Rachel attended and performed four times at the American College Dance Association conference, in addition to bringing two pieces she choreographed to perform at the conference.  Rachel studied modern dance, dance history, instructional technique, and dance composition under Cynthia Adams and Janice Baker at Iowa State.  She participated in the student dance company Orchesis 1, choreographing for all 4 years she was a member, as well as serving as a Costumer, Vice-President, and President of the company.  Rachel performed the role of Flower Soloist in the annual production of the Nutcracker at the Iowa State Center, under the direction of Robert Thomas and Miyoko Kato Thomas.  She taught dance for 2 years for the city of Ames, and served as a substitute dance instructor at Dance Endeavors from 2013-2014.  Rachel is excited to be back and teaching at Dance Endeavors!

Allison
Allison is from Rosemount, MN, where she started dancing at the Dance Connection at the age of three. She holds a B.A. in dance and philosophy from Gustavus Adolphus College. She has performed multiple times at the American College Dance Association Conference (ACDA), Dances at the Lakes, Off Leash Arts, and other various venues around the Twin Cities. Her choreography has been presented in both student and faculty concerts at Gustavus, ACDA North Central Conference, Rosemount High School, and festivals around Minnesota. She has been teaching tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern to students of all ages for seven years. She also works as a Family Service Coordinator in the housing department at Community Action Partnership in Shakopee. She can't wait to start her first year at Dance Endeavors!  

Kelly - Studio Manager
Kelly's daughters have been at Dance Endeavors since 2002 and her family has many more years ahead! She began working at Dance Endeavors in 2013 and is lucky to have one of the best jobs in the world - working with dancers and their families!  She is also an Owner at Snips Salons in Bloomington & Jordan.  Kelly is married to Doug and has 3 daughters and 3 granddaughters.  In her spare time she enjoys singing and being outside as much as possible in the summer!  Contact Kelly with general studio questions at kelly@danceendeavors.com

Lindsey 
Lindsey began dancing at the age of 4 and never stopped. As a Bloomington, Minnesota native, Lindsey started dancing at Dance Endeavors under the direction of Juli Mickelson and her talented staff the year it opened. She attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and participated in their Ballet Ensemble instructed by professional company members from around the Midwest. She recently graduated from St. Olaf College with B.A. in Dance and Sociology/Anthropology where she performed with the school's company, Companydance.  In Companydance Lindsey had the opportunity to work with local and national modern dance artists, Gabriel Anderson, Alexandra Beller, Karla Grotting, Heather Klopchin, and Kari Mosel as well as perform at two American College Dance Festivals.  She brings experience in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, and modern.  Lindsey aims to create an inviting and fun environment in all of her classes, providing students with the opportunity to grow and develop into the best dancer and person they can possibly be.

Lily
Lily is from Maple Grove, Minnesota. She is currently working to earn a duel degree in dance and physiology from the University of Minnesota. Lily has 13 years of dance training from Escalate Dance and Theater Studio and 4 years of training from high school dance team . She is trained in modern, contemporary, ballet, jazz, broadway jazz, tap, and kick line. Lily has choreographed for the Minnesota fringe festival as well as for other studios around the twin cities. She is very excited to join the Dance Endeavors team and share her movement with the students here. 

Gretchen 
Gretchen has danced with Juli Mickelson from the age of three and is excited to back at Dance Endeavors. She holds a degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato in elementary education and dance education. Gretchen did her student teaching in the dance classes at Southwest High school and Folwell Performing Arts Magnet School in Minneapolis. At MNSU, she studied under Dan Stark, Julie Kerr-Berry, Lisa Long, Paul Finocchiaro, and Jeffery Peterson. She studied a variety of dance forms including tap, jazz, ballet, improvisation, and dance composition, but her training emphasized modern dance. She performed with the University Repertory Dance Theatre in five dance concerts; most notable performances include Suite Winter, Cops and Robbers, Crash, and Les Very Stylish Fillies. Gretchen choreographed two dances that debuted in the student showcase. She has attended master classes from the Zenon Dance Company, Mia Michaels, James Sewell Ballet, Zorongo Flemenco Dance Theater, Classical Javanese artist Tri Sutrisno, and Brazilian dance artist Marciano Silva dos Santos. Gretchen is a 5th grade teacher in Bloomington and she is passionate about sharing her love of dance with young dancers!

Devin 
Devin is thrilled to be teaching at Dance Endeavors. She grew up dancing with Juli and Dance Endeavors from Kindergarten through high school. Devin has studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and danceline, with ballet and pointe being her primary focus. Dancing is her passion and she is so excited to be able to share her love for dance through teaching! Devin’s students will learn the techniques while also incorporating the art of story-telling and expression through dance. Currently Devin is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education and has a love for working with children.

Juli Mickelson, Owner/Director/Lead Instructor
Juli has taught dance for over 30 years, 20 years here in Bloomington. Juli studied many forms of dance, thriving in the study of classical ballet. She studied intensively with Branitski Ballet Company, Andahazy Ballet, American School of Russian Classical Ballet, Fort Worth Ballet, and Minnesota Dance Theatre. She performed in numerous ballets including Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, and Swan Lake and was a dance major at Texas Christian University. She is also an accomplished choreographer of dance performances and musicals, and certified Yoga instructor. Juli teaches all ages and levels with her unique blend of proper technique and a fun atmosphere.
