Molly is from Bloomington, Minnesota and began dancing at age five under the instruction of Juli Mickelson. When she was seven, Juli opened Dance Endeavors and Molly moved to this studio to continue her training. She was trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, lyrical, and hip-hop while at Dance Endeavors. Molly has attended summer intensives at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Gelsey Kirkland Academy, Ballet West, and the University of Utah. At age eighteen, Molly moved to Salt Lake City to be a part of the ballet program at the University of Utah. At the University of Utah she was under the instruction of Calvin Kitten, Michael Bearden, James Ady, Maggie Wright Tesch, Jan Fugit, Jay Kim, and Melonie Buchanan Murray, among others. She has performed in works by Katie Scherman, Shayla Botts, Jay Kim, Rene Deluvy, and Brent Schneider. Molly received her BFA in Ballet from the University of Utah in May 2017. She is excited to be back at Dance Endeavors to share her love of ballet with the students!
Kim is from Waukesha County, Wisconsin and is a student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities currently working to earn her BFA in Dance. She's been training for 16 years both recreationally and competitively through studios and school dance teams. She has been teaching/choreographing for 6 years at pher home studio, her performing arts high school, and the Twin Cities area. One of Kim's greatest accomplishments includes her high school senior portfolio project, where she choreographed, produced, and directed her own dance production. Kim is very excited to join the Dance Endeavors team and to spread her art to all the wonderful young dancers at the studio!
Michaela started her dance training with the Milwaukee Ballet School at the age of five and continued her training through the Milwaukee Ballet School Academy Program. While at MBS, she trained primarily with Karl Von Rabenau and Phyllis Coffey. She spent her summers dancing at the Milwaukee Ballet School and Ballet Austin summer intensive programs, and danced several classical ballet roles, her favorites being Kitri in Don Quixote and Grumpy in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. After high school, she continued her training as a dance major at St. Olaf College where she focused on not only movement, but also policy relating to the arts. Her training includes classical ballet, pointe and variations, partnering, jazz, character, and modern dance.
Isadora has been born and raised in the Dance Endeavors family, helping to build the studio quite literally! She has danced for 14 years, studying all styles of dance, but truly has a passion for lyrical and contemporary. Izzy has a natural love for children and it shows in her teaching style. This is her first year at DE and we are so excited she is sharing her love of dance with us!
Michelle graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of St. Thomas with B.A’s in K-12 education and Spanish, as well as a dance minor from Macalester College. She began her training under the direction of Juli Mickelson and the Dance Endeavors team, studying a variety of styles including jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, and classical ballet. Other training includes summer intensives with Joffrey New York, Magnus Midwest, and Milwaukee Ballet. Michelle began her professional dance career in Minnesota with Saint Paul Ballet and Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota where she had the opportunity to perform many soloist and principal roles including: Mouse Queen and Dew Drop (The Nutcracker), Noelle and The Can Can Doll (Enchanted Toyshop), Spring Fairy (Cinderella), and Beauty in Twin Cities Ballet’s original production of Beauty and the Beast. She will be returning this season as a company dancer with Saint Paul Ballet. Most recently Michelle has danced in Denver with Colorado Ballet’s Studio Company. There she learned a variety of repertoire from Christopher Wheeldon’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Michael Pink’s Dracula, and George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco. During this time she also had the opportunity to perform with the Studio Company for their Student Outreach Performances. Michelle has taught a variety of styles of dance to all ages during this time and looks forward to bringing her experience and love of dance to Dance Endeavors.
Kelly Meyers, Office Manager
Kelly's daughters have been at Dance Endeavors since 2001 and her family has many more years ahead! She began working part-time at Dance Endeavors in 2013 and full-time as the studio Office Manager in March 2015. She is also an Owner at Snips SpaSalon in Bloomington. Kelly is married to Doug and has 3 daughters and 3 granddaughters. In her spare time she enjoys singing and being outside as much as possible in the summer!
Trisha is in her 13th year at Dance Endeavors. She offers classes in Danceline, Tap and Jazz. Many of her students have been accepted to their high school dance teams! Trisha's choreography is well known for its strength and innovation. Above all, Trisha believes that dance should be fun and accessible to all! We welcome her encouragement and the expertise she brings to the classroom.
Lindsey began dancing at the age of 4 and never stopped. As a Bloomington, Minnesota native, Lindsey started dancing at Dance Endeavors under the direction of Juli Mickelson and her talented staff the year it opened. She attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan and participated in their Ballet Ensemble instructed by professional company members from around the Midwest. She recently graduated from St. Olaf College with B.A. in Dance and Sociology/Anthropology where she performed with the school's company, Companydance. In Companydance Lindsey had the opportunity to work with local and national modern dance artists, Gabriel Anderson, Alexandra Beller, Karla Grotting, Heather Klopchin, and Kari Mosel as well as perform at two American College Dance Festivals. She brings experience in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, and modern. Lindsey aims to create an inviting and fun environment in all of her classes, providing students with the opportunity to grow and develop into the best dancer and person they can possibly be.
Jen has been teaching dance and choreographing in the Twin Cities since 1999. As a dancer, she began taking classes at the age of five, and continued studying through college where she was a captain and member of the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire Nationals Dance Team. Jen has studied ballet under Juli Mickelson, Marcia Keegan, Ronn Tice and Lisa Long and modern with Julie Kerr-Berry and Dan Stark. She has choreographed for local professional and community theatre companies, and is currently Resident Choreographer for Minnetonka Theatre, where she also has performed as a dancer and actor. Jen formerly was on the teaching staff at Deanne's Dance Studio, Stages Theatre Company, and was a member of the artistic staff at Anoka High School and Community Theatre. She held the position of Head Coach of the Minnetonka High School competition Dance Team from 2003 to 2008, and received the 2004 MHS Female Coach of the Year. Jennifer's choreography has been awarded six Hennepin Theatre Trust Spotlight Awards for her choreography in Minnetonka High School’s productions of Once on This Island (2005) and Blood Brothers (2008), Young Frankenstein (2013), Evita (2014), Urinetown (2014) and Brigadoon (2015). She holds a B.A. in Public Relations (1999) and a minor in Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire.
Gretchen has danced with Juli Mickelson from the age of three and is excited to back at Dance Endeavors. She holds a degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato in elementary education and dance education. Gretchen did her student teaching in the dance classes at Southwest High school and Folwell Performing Arts Magnet School in Minneapolis. At MNSU, she studied under Dan Stark, Julie Kerr-Berry, Lisa Long, Paul Finocchiaro, and Jeffery Peterson. She studied a variety of dance forms including tap, jazz, ballet, improvisation, and dance composition, but her training emphasized modern dance. She performed with the University Repertory Dance Theatre in five dance concerts; most notable performances include Suite Winter, Cops and Robbers, Crash, and Les Very Stylish Fillies. Gretchen choreographed two dances that debuted in the student showcase. She has attended master classes from the Zenon Dance Company, Mia Michaels, James Sewell Ballet, Zorongo Flemenco Dance Theater, Classical Javanese artist Tri Sutrisno, and Brazilian dance artist Marciano Silva dos Santos. Gretchen is a 5th grade teacher in Bloomington and she is passionate about sharing her love of dance with young dancers!
Devin is thrilled to be teaching at Dance Endeavors. She grew up dancing with Juli and Dance Endeavors from Kindergarten through high school. Devin has studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and danceline, with ballet and pointe being her primary focus. Dancing is her passion and she is so excited to be able to share her love for dance through teaching! Devin’s students will learn the techniques while also incorporating the art of story-telling and expression through dance. Currently Devin is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education and has a love for working with children.
Juli Mickelson, Owner/Director/Lead Instructor
Juli has taught dance for over 30 years, 20 years here in Bloomington. Juli studied many forms of dance, thriving in the study of classical ballet. She studied intensively with Branitski Ballet Company, Andahazy Ballet, American School of Russian Classical Ballet, Fort Worth Ballet, and Minnesota Dance Theatre. She performed in numerous ballets including Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, and Swan Lake and was a dance major at Texas Christian University. She is also an accomplished choreographer of dance performances and musicals, and certified Yoga instructor. Juli teaches all ages and levels with her unique blend of proper technique and a fun atmosphere.
